Hi, my name is Rod Hardy and I bought a new truck about ten months ago and according to the "New Vehicle Sticker", located on a side window, It was supposed to get up to 24 MPG on the highway. I checked my gas mileage while traveling on vacation. My gas mileage sucked! At freeway speeds, I was getting a miserable 15.3 MPG! My truck is a 2008 Chevy with a 5.3 Liter V8, and it has "Active Fuel Management!" what ever the hell this is, it sure does not work!!! I complained to the dealer that sold me the truck! His comment was, "Drive slower and your gas mileage should improve!" I tried this and, it did improve very slightly! Driving 10 MPH slower than I normally drive, my new Chevy Pickup's mileage did improve slightly. I now was getting 16.0 MPG, a .7 MPG increase! I've worked in Electronics most of my life and have been designing circuitry for many years! Something had to be done about my truck's terrible gas mileage!
